The Norfolk holiday for February 2027 is now open for bookings for up to six guests. It is a great week with so many birds and makes a superb start to the birding year, not just for the variety of species, but for the spectacle of so many birds. Large flocks of geese winter here, especially Pink-footed Geese and we have seen up to twenty thousand before now. Brent Geese are in big flocks and we see spectacular numbers of Lapwings and often Golden Plover too.

There are several species we make a special effort to see, such as Common Cranes, Hawfinch, Bewick’s Swans and hopefully Snow Bunting and Shorelarks. The north coast of Norfolk has so many Reserves and we’ll visit Titchwell, Cley, Holkham and perhaps others where enormous numbers of birds can be seen, with so many ducks, geese, waders and often raptors too including Marsh Harriers galore!

We have seen a fair few scarce or rare birds over the years - Red-breasted Goose, Black-winged Kite, Ferruginous Duck and Short-toed Lark to name a few - and we’ll keep our ears open to anything turning up, even less rare but special birds such as Red-necked Grebe, Bean Goose or Water Pipit. We’ll visit Welney and Hickling Broad to add a bit of variety and should see Chinese Water Deer, Muntjacs and other deer. It’s a great week based at a friendly hotel with fabulous food - so why not join us.

If you would like to join Roy, you’ll find further information and bookings here. Please email us or phone 01479 812498 if you have any queries.
