Fair Isle might not have given us the easterly winds we were hoping for, but there was still plenty arriving on the island. Lapland Buntings, Common Rosefinches, Barred and Yellow-browed Warblers were among the highlights, alongside hunting Merlins and the first Pink-footed Geese arriving from Iceland.

This past summer has been a series of surprises during our Guided Day’s Out. The Summer months always seem a little bit quieter with most birds quietly recovering from raising young. However, with more birds present, provides more food availability for raptors.
